Update from Yellowstone

Well I haven't been able to post any pictures or provide any updates because there is no wireless or cell signal in Yellowstone. You can only pick up an analog cell signal if you are near one of the major visitor centers, which is where we are now. So I will not be able to upload any pictures or video until sometime around Monday.

We left San Jose at 8:45 PM Wednesday and made it to Yellowstone Thursday evening around 6:00 PM - 1,030 miles later. We did the drive practically straight through with a stop around 3:00 AM to catch about 2 hours of sleep. We have seen so much wildlife in Yellowstone in such as short time. When we arrived at the park we saw several Elk out feeding on the side of the road. Then during the drive to the campground we saw more Elk and Bison. We were even lucky enough to witness a bear running across an open field. Then when we were almost to our campground we saw a coyote walking along the side of the road. Not bad for only being in Yellowstone for less than 1 hour.

The first day we went to see Old Faithful and do a hike around the geyser basin. At the end of the hike we came upon a large herd of bison. We were less than 30 yards away from them. We just stood silently until they decided to move along. Then on the drive back to the campground we came across a large bison standing in the middle of the road...
Bison in the Road
Today is Saturday and we visited the Mud Volcano's and hiked to several of the waterfalls. Tomorrow morning we will head to the Grand Tetons and camp for one day before making our way back to San Jose. I will post the videos and pictures as soon as I have a decent connection. /Patrick
